About Joakim
Welcome!
My name is Joakim. I am a 25 year old scandinavian composer, living in Oslo, Norway. With this site I want to introduce you to some of the various music I write, and the projects I am involved in.
I am currently working as a recording and mixing engineer for various companies around the country. I also run the music production company Voix de ville in Oslo.
As an artist I play most of my music in my solo projects Forgotten tales and The world of Balthazar.
Besides my solo projects, I am involved in a few pop and rock bands, 3500 Mhz, Isola and Freedom, where I also co-write the music and lyrics alongside with a great group of musicians.
There are a few composers and artists which I especially have been influenced by, such as Danny Elfman, Yann Tiersen, Hans Zimmer and Tom Waits.
Other than that, I am greatly inspired by storytelling and the various ways of telling a story, and thereby creating a new one.

News
The world of Balthazar »
With his avant garde project "The World of Balthazar", he's preparing the recording of the projects debut albums. It is a triology titled "Voix de ville" chapter I-III, and consists of twentyone songs on three 12 inch records, scheduled to be recorded in the course of 2010.
A puppet tale »
Two months ago, Joakim started writing a script for an animated shortfilm titled "A puppet tale". This is rather new type of work, but very rewarding. It is to be put to life by 3D animator Jamie Kielland, and hopefully we will start the animation work in october this year. At the moment Joakim is scoring the music along with finishing the script, while several scetch artists are modelling the main characters.
Destination unknown »
Joakim is writing the music for a motion picture titled "Destination unknown", written and produced by Jamie Kielland. Date of release is not yet decided.
